Dr. Trolice,
I realize that treating infertility is not an exact science and that many aspects of it cannot be quantified or predicted with any certainty. But given your experience, do you think I have a reasonably good chance of success with IVF?
I am 40 and slightly overweight but otherwise in good health (except for thyroid dysfunction for which I take medication). My FSH is 9, and an HSG test showed no visible problems such as blocked Fallopian tubes, cysts, etc. I have never had a baby and have had numerous unsuccessful IUIs, one of which did result in a pregnancy but it was lost almost immediately.
Am I a good candidate for IVF? Thank you for your time.
